Intel Core i3-7100U
The Intel Core i3-7100U is an Ultra Low Voltage (ULV) dual core processor with code name Kaby Lake that runs at the clock speed of 2.4 GHz with Hyper Threading technology to work with up to 4 threads at once but without Turbo Boost this means that the clock speed of this processor is fixed to 2.4 GHz.

The SoC (System on a Chip) is manufactured using 14 nm technology and includes a dual channel DDR4 memory controller and Intel HD Graphics 620 graphics card which is clocked at 300 - 1000 MHz. The exact performance of the HD Graphics 620 depends on various factors like L3 cache size, memory configuration (DDR3/DDR4) and maximum clock rate of the specific model but is very similar to the HD Graphics 520 GPU. This indicates that only some less demanding recent games can run fluently in low detail settings. Moreover, in comparison to Skylake Core i3-6100U, the i3-7100U offers a 100 MHz improved clock speed.

Moreover, the SOC has 128 kB level 1 cache, 512 kB level 2 cache and 3 MB level 3 cache. It has a thermal design power of about 15 watts and supports 64 bit technology and hardware virtualizations such as VT-x and VT-d.

The Intel Core i3-7100U has a PassMArk CPU mark of 3818 which is similar to the PassMark rating of Intel Core i5-3230M clocked at 2.6 GHz, Intel Core i5-6200U clocked at 2.3 GHz and Intel Core i5-3210M clocked at 2.5 GHz but less powerful than Core i5-7200U..
