The Intel Core i5-7300HQ is quad core SOC designed for laptop PCs. This SOC is based from Kaby Lake architecture available in early 2017. This SOC features level 1 cache of 256 kB, level 2 cache of 1024 kB, 6 MB level 3 cache.

This SoC runs at the base clock speed of 2.5 GHz with Turbo Boost technology to speed up processing up to 3.5 GHz. This does not support Hyper Threading technology unlike the Core i7 models. It is mass-produced using 14nm process with FinFET transistors, which further improve the efficiency. Intel specifies the TDP with 45 Watts, but it can also be reduced to 35 Watts by the notebook manufacturers (cTDP down).

It has an integrated graphics controller called Intel HD Graphics 630 which has 24 Execution Units that runs at 350 - 1000 MHz. The performance depends a lot on the memory configuration of the device. This is comparable to a dedicated Nvidia GeForce 920M in combination with fast DDR4-2133 dual-channel memory.

Other features of Intel Core i5-7300HQ include Dual-Channel DDR4 Memory Controller, HyperThreading, AVX, AVX2, Quick Sync, Virtualization, AES-NI. It was announced last January 3, 2017 at about $250.

Intel Core i5-7300HQ PassMark Score. The higher the score the better the performance.
The Intel Core i5-7300HQ has a PassMark score of 6797. With this score this SOC is more powerful than Core i5-7300U with a score of 5143, Core i5-7200U with a PassMArk of 4705, AMD FX-9800P with a score of 4111 and Core i7-7Y75 with a score of 3909 but less powerful than Core i5-7820HQ with a score of 9501, Core i7-7500U with a score of 5250 and Core i7-7700HQ with a score of 8983.
