The AMD Ryzen 7 4800H is a System on a Chip (SoC) for big and powerful laptops. The Ryzen 7 4800H incorporates all eight (8) cores based on the Zen 2 microarchitecture. The cores are clocked at 2.9 GHz, the assured base clock speed, and up to 4.2 GHz with Turbo Core Technology and support Simultaneous multithreading (SMT) up to 16 threads at once. The SoC is constructed in the cutting-edge 7-nanometer (nm) process at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC). According to AMD, it has 2x better performance per watt for the Renoir chips.

Moreover, as said by AMD, the Ryzen 7 4800H SoC is 5% quicker in Cinebench R20 using the single thread test and 46 % faster in the multithreaded test in comparison to the Intel Core i7-9750H, because of the additional two cores. That transforms into a performance involving a Core i9-9880H and the Core i9-9980HK leading model. The previous model, Ryzen 3000 mobile chips such as Ryzen 7 3750H, are effortlessly beaten in CPU performance because of the additional four cores, the Zen 2 microarchitecture, and the higher clock speeds. This means that the Ryzen 7 4800H would be able to deal with all demanding and power-hungry tasks and games.


Aside from the eight (8) CPU cores, the Ryzen 7 4800H SoC also incorporates a Radeon RX Vega 7 integrated GPU that features 7 CUs and up to 1600 MHz processing speed. The dual-channel memory controller provides supports for the DDR4-3200 RAM and energy-efficient LPDDR4-4266. Moreover, it has up to level 3 cache, from 512 MB Level 1 cache to 8 MB level 3 cache.

The Thermal Design Power (TDP) of the Accelerated Processing Unit (APU), as what is called by AMD, is indicated at 45 Watt, the default TDP value, and can be set up from 35W to 54 Watts. This means that the SOC is intended for big, powerful, and heavy laptops. It has a CPU Mark Score of 19194 points. This is a powerful SoC, and comparable to Core i9-9980HK with 15202 points, but more powerful than Intel Core i9-9880H with a CPU Benchmark score of 14134.
