AMD Ryzen 5 3xxx |
The AMD Ryzen 5 3580U is a Microsoft Surface Edition APU launched in the last quarter of 2019. It comes with four Zen+ cores which can process 8 threads at once because of SMT (simultaneous multithreading technology). The CPU is clocked at the base frequency of 2.2 GHz with a burst speed of up to 3.8 GHz. The APU has an integrated graphics controller called Radeon RX Vega 9 GPU that features 9 CUs with 576 shaders clocked at up to 1.3 GHz.
The Ryzen 5 3580U has a Thermal Design Power of 15 Watt and is designed for
thin mid-range notebook PCs. In comparison to the related Ryzen 5 3500U, the
Ryzen 5 3580 incorporates a quicker graphics card with 9 CUs (Compute Units)
instead of 8.
The Ryzen 5 3580U APU also features an integrated dual-channel memory
controller that provides supports to DDR4-2400 memory modules. Other important
features of this APU includes AMD FreeSync Technology, DirectX 12 Technology,
Display Port, and HDMI support. The APU has 3 levels of cache memory from 384
KB level 1 cache to 4 MB level 3 cache memory.
The Ryzen 5 3580U CPU specification is similar to the Ryzen 5 3500U, the CPU
performance should be the same.
AMD
affirms that the Picasso APUs are around 8% better than the previous model.
Consequently, the Ryzen 5 3500U and Ryzen 5 3580U should be better than the
old Ryzen 5 2500U APU with a clock speed of 2 GHz to 3.6 GHz, and with almost
the same performance as the older Ryzen 7 2700U clocked at 2.2 GHz to 3.8 GHz.
The Ryzen 5 3580U accelerated processing unit has a CPU Mark of 8065, compared
to Ryzen 5 3500U which has 7160 points, and Ryzen 5 2500 which has a score of
6657. To compare to other popular SoCs, please visit this

The benchmark scores of the recorded processors are averages calculated among
various machines. The scores and real-world performance of the Ryzen 5 3580U and compared processors may differ subject to the laptops' included
components, settings, cooling system, and other factors. On the other hand,
the benchmark scores are good markers of the processors' performance.
Generally, the higher the scores, the better its performance level. See this
