Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) has announced a new lineup of graphics cards for laptops at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2023, including the Radeon RX 7600M XT, Radeon RX 7600M, Radeon RX 7600S, and Radeon RX 7700S. All four models are based on AMD's Navi 33 graphics processing unit (GPU) and have 8 GB of video random access memory (VRAM).
The Radeon RX 7600M XT comes with 32 compute units (CUs), a boost clock of 2.3 GHz, 32 MB of Infinity Cache, and a TGP of 120 watts. It also has 8 GB of 18 Gbps VRAM on a 128-bit bus and supports AV1 encode/decode. According to AMD, the Radeon RX 7600M XT is up to 31% faster than the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 at 1080p gaming. The Radeon RX 7600M has a similar VRAM setup but slower 16 Gbps modules, a lower CU count of 28, and a max TGP of 90 watts.
The Radeon RX 7700S and Radeon RX 7600S also feature 8 GB of VRAM, with 18 Gbps and 16 Gbps modules on a 128-bit bus, respectively. The Radeon RX 7700S has 32 CUs, while the Radeon RX 7600S has 28. Both have max TGPs of 100 watts and 90 watts, respectively. While these models may not be able to compete with more powerful options like the Nvidia Ampere or AMD Ada Lovelace chips, they are expected to be more affordable due to being manufactured on TSMC's 6 nm node and using an entry-level Navi 33 GPU.
Laptops equipped with these new AMD GPUs will be available in the coming weeks, while the rest of the RDNA 3 lineup is expected to be unveiled at Computex later this year.
