nubia Flip first made its appearance as the ZTE Libero Flip in Japan. But it was later rebranded and showcased at MWC 2024. And just recently, the phone launched in China as the cheapest foldable phone that you can get right now. It launched with a starting price of CNY 2,999, which is around $415.
Well, it seems that nubia is also keeping the price attractive for other markets. The Flip 5G foldable phone just went up for pre-orders in the global regions. Its starting price tag for the international markets is $499. That might be a bit high compared to the Chinese launch price, but it still retains the title of the most affordable foldable phone.
MAIN HIGHLIGHTS OF THE NUBIA FLIP FOLDABLE PHONE
As you may have expected from the price tag, the specs of the nubia Flip are mid-range. Like we’ve covered earlier, the phone comes with a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1. This isn’t the fastest mid-range SoC out there, but it’s still capable of handling day-to-day apps just fine.
There are two screens on the Flip 5G, and the internal screen is a 6.9-inch OLED panel with 1188 x 2790 pixels. It features a 120 Hz refresh rate and can get reasonably bright. On the outside, there’s a 1.43-inch circular display that sports a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels.
As for the camera, the back of the nubia Flip features a dual-camera setup, with the primary sensor being a 50 MP unit. And on the front, the foldable phone features a 16 MP selfie camera.
The overall build of the nubia Flip 5G is great too. As the company confirmed, the foldable mechanism can withstand more than 200 thousand unfolds. Open sales for the device start on April 23.
