The Ryzen 7 4800H is a fast processor (APU) for big and gaming laptops equipped with eight cores based on the Zen 2 microarchitecture launch in the 1st quarter of 2020. It can process up to 16 threads at once because of simultaneous multi-threading. The SoC has a base clock speed of 2.9 GHz and a maximum turbo frequency of 4.2 GHz. This Ryzen 7 SoC is manufactured in the 7 nm process at the TSMC.
The Ryzen 7 4800H SoC is designed to provide exceptional performance in
rigorous computing situations like gaming or video production at a cost of
higher power consumption of 45 Watts, which is the TDP of the SoC. This TDP or
Thermal Design Power can be configured to 35 - 54 Watt by the laptop
manufacturer. That means the SoC is intended for big and rather heavy laptop
PCs. The Ryzen 7 4800HS, on the other hand, is the 35-Watt version of the
Ryzen 7 4800H with a 10-Watt lower TDP. Configurable TDP-down is a processor
operation approach where the processor behavior and performance are changed by
reducing TDP and the processor frequency to fixed points.
Aside from its eight CPU cores, the Ryzen 7 4800H APU also incorporates Radeon
RX Vega 7 integrated GPU with 7 CUs and a processing speed of up to 1.6 GHz.
Moreover, the dual-channel memory controller supports DDR4-3200 and energy
efficient LPDDR4-4266 RAM. Additionally, an 8 MB level 3 cache is available in
this APU.
The Ryzen 7 4800H SoC has a CPU Mark of 19,145 points as of January 8, 2021.
Other processors include Ryzen 9 4900HS with a rating of 19,862; Ryzen 7 4800U
with a score of 17,287; and Core i7-10875H with a CPU Mark of 15,874.

AMD Ryzen 7 4800H as compared to other SoCs
The benchmark scores of the recorded processors are averages calculated among
various machines. The scores and real-world performance of the Ryzen 7 4800H
and compared processors may differ subject to the laptops' included
components, settings, cooling system, and other factors. On the other hand,
the benchmark scores are good markers of the processors' performance.
Generally, the higher the scores, the better its performance level.
