AMD had produced APUs specifically for the Microsoft Surface laptops, this is called Ryzen 7 3780U. This is a mobile SoC lunch in the last quarter of 2019. The APU has four Zen+ cores, thanks to SMT because it can process 8 threads at once. The APU is clocked from the base frequency of 2.3 GHz up to a boost speed of 4 GHz.

The Ryzen 7 3780U (Microsoft Surface Edition) is packed with Radeon RX Vega 11 graphics card. In comparison to another Ryzen 7 APU like the Ryzen 7 3700U, the 3780U features this iGPU which is faster than the RX Vega 10. This integrated graphics processor has 11 CUs with 704 Shaders and a frequency of up to 1.4 GHz. This APU has a Thermal Design Power (TDP) which is specified by AMD at 15 Watts. With this, the SoC is meant for thin and mid-range laptops. Moreover, it has a cTDP (configurable TDP) of 12 watts to 35 watts.

The Ryzen 7 3780U (Microsoft Surface Edition) also features an integrated dual-channel memory controller that supports up to DDR4-2400 memory modules. It has 3 levels of cache memory, from 384 KB level 1 cache to 4 MB level 3 cache. Other key features of this APU include AMD FreeSync Technology, DirectX 12 Technology, Display Port, and HDMI support. The AMD FreeSync technology, according to the manufacturer, puts an end to choppy gameplay and broken frames with fluid, artifact-free performance at virtually any framerate.

Furthermore, AMD affirms that the Picasso SoCs is about 8% faster than the predecessors. Hence, the Ryzen 7 3780U must be marginally faster than the Ryzen 7 2700U. The Ryzen 7 3780U has a CPU Mark of 7203. It has almost the same performance as the Ryzen 7 2700U, with a CPU Mark of 6589, and the Ryzen 7 3700U with a score of 7342.
